Paul Schulte, Trevon Jenifer and Jim Glatch and other current/former members of the U.S. Men’s Paralympic Team will be holding a free wheelchair basketball clinic on behalf of the Paul Schulte Foundation.
Who: Children of various ages and skill level
When: Saturday April 29th, 2017 from 9:00am – 12:00 noon (There is a possibility of an afternoon session, inquire below)
Where: Adaptive Sports Programs of Ohio, Dalton Athletic Gymnasium – Dalton, Ohio
(100 Kurzen Rd., Dalton OH 44618)
Background: The Paul Schulte Foundation was created in 2007, with a focus on providing youth with disabilities an avenue to build confidence through sport, by sponsoring them for participation in wheelchair sports camps. Both Paul and Will have leveraged their growth and success from sport into life, including successful careers. Their goal is to provide children the same exposure to the sport, as a motivation for them to pursue whatever their goals may be. This will be done in two ways:
1.) This 1-day clinic for children in the Northeast Ohio Region, focused on the fundamentals of wheelchair basketball, as well as life with a disability
2.) Funds will also be raised in conjunction with this event, in order to send a minimum of 20 children throughout the US to university sponsored wheelchair sports camps (see paulsfoundation.com)
How: If you are interested in attending or know of a young boy or girl who would benefit from this event, please contact Tom Schulte at: Schulte.email@example.com or 734-355-2463 by April 15, 2017. An effort will be made to have as much excess equipment available as possible. In addition, lunch will be provided for participants in the clinic.
