Zander Signs Letter of Intent to Play Power Soccer at Auburn!
Saturday, April 25 was a big day for Team Force’s Zander Helfrich. Zander signed a letter of intent to play power soccer at Auburn University! Auburn is the only university in the US with a power soccer team, and Zander is the first Ohio player to sign to play collegiately. We are incredibly proud of Zander and look forward to watching him compete and excel at Auburn.

Team Force Holds Charity Game at Medina HS
Zander’s letter of intent signing wasn’t the only exciting power soccer news on April 25! Zander also organized a charity showcase at Medina High School. The showcase featured two games, starting with Medina HS students taking on school administration. The students won and earned the privilege to play Team Force. Team Force displayed their skills, defeating the students 9-5. Thank you to the fans in attendance who cheered and supported Team Force! It was a great evening.

Vince Represents ASO and the Browns at USAWFL Veteran All-Star Game
Adaptive Sports Ohio’s own Vince from the Browns Wheelchair Football Team was honored to be selected to play in Move United’s USA Wheelchair Football League Veteran All-Star Game on Friday, April 24. Vince played for Team Stars in the match-up between the Stars and Stripes. Team Stripes took the win by the score of 21-6. We look forward to seeing Vince and the rest of the Browns back in action soon!

Team Force Takes Third Place in Indiana
Congratulations to Team Force on their third place finish at the RHI Victory Lane Power Soccer Cup in Indiana on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3! The team ended the weekend with a record of 1-1-3 which included a win over Auburn, the reigning champs of the Champions Conference. There are four USPSA conferences:
- Premier
- Champions ←Team Force
- Presidents
- Founders
The tournament was highly competitive for Team Force, with all the other teams coming from the Premier Conference. Let’s go, Team Force!

Walleye Defeat UT in Charity Season Finale
The Walleye Sled Hockey Team finished their season in a scrimmage against the University of Toledo Rockets hockey team on Saturday, April 25. The Rockets gave it their best effort, but the Walleye took home the victory with a 6-1 finish. Thank you to the Rockets for being great sports and spending the morning with our Walleye!

ASO Selected for Gatorade Player of Year Community Grant
Thank you Anthony Thompson for donating your Gatorade Player of the Year Community Grant to help support Adaptive Sports Ohio! Congratulations to Anthony being named the Gatorade Ohio Boys Basketball Player of the Year. As part of Gatorade’s commitment to breaking down barriers in sport, every Player of the Year receives a grant to donate to a social impact partner. It’s an honor for Adaptive Sports Ohio to be selected.

Come have fun learning the basics of power soccer and wheelchair football on Tuesday, May 12 at the Niles Wellness Center from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.! This clinic is free to attend for any youth or adult with a primary physical disability. Daily wheelchair use is NOT required. All equipment is provided. Register today.

Cleveland Wheelchair Football Clinic
Join us at the Cleveland Heights Community Center from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, and learn the basics of wheelchair football with the Cleveland Browns Wheelchair Football team! The clinic is free to attend, and open to any adult with a primary physical disability. Not restricted to wheelchair users. All equipment is provided. Register today.

Reserve Your Spot at Dream Camp 2026
Join us at Dream Camp Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26 for a weekend of adaptive sports and recreation! During this overnight camp, attendees will participate in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair softball, kayaking, swimming, track, and more!
