Rhinos Rugby Clinic Article
The Akron Rhinos Rugby team recently had the pleasure of hosting Steve Kearley for a clinic. Kearley is a former Paralympian and current USA Wheelchair Rugby Low Point Team head coach. In this short, team-only clinic, he shared his expertise with the athletes. His teaching included new defensive and offensive strategies, practice drills, and more. The athletes were open and eager for his instruction and everyone took away something from the clinic.
Following the clinic, many of Kearley’s tips were put into play. While competing in the Columbus Collision Tournament, the Rhinos unexpectedly beat out a tough competitor. Kearley saw potential in the team, and now, with his help, that potential is turning into reality. The Rhinos are excited knowing a former Paralympian is cheering them on!
